Joe Thomas, MBA
and Annemarie Lucas,
MHSA were recently recognized by Administrators in Academic Psychiatry (AAP) for their invaluable contributions to the organization.
Annemarie received the "Rising Star Award," given to new members who participate in some capacity in association activities. She wrote an article for The GrAAPvine, the organization's quarterly newsletter and was recently elected to the Board of Directors as a Member-at-Large for Membership.
Annemarie is the Director of Operations for the U-M Department of Psychiatry.
Joe received the "President's Award," the highest award the AAP gives.
The award honors his long-term contribution to the organization. Joe has served as President (a three year commitment during which time he reorganized the board terms, began implementation of our strategic plan, and organized two conferences), has presented several times at AAP conferences and has most recently served on a committee to develop a new faculty incentive survey.
Joe is the Chief Department Administrator for the U-M Department of Psychiatry and the U-M Comprehensive Depression Center.
Both Joe and Annemarie are members of the U-M Depression Center.
