Lessons Learned from Using Conversational Text Message Surveys and Diabetes Devices Among Adolescents with Type 1 Diabetes

In this DIGIT-MI session, Dr. Melissa DeJonckheere and study team members will present findings from two observational studies that leveraged conversational text messaging and diabetes devices (i.e., continuous glucose monitoring and insulin pumps) for real-time data collection to better understand adolescent diabetes self-management behaviors.

This presentation will focus on lessons learned from leveraging low-cost mobile technologies, incorporating adolescent perspectives and preferences in study design, and considerations for working with diabetes devices already in use by study participants.
