Melvin McInnis, M.D., is a renowned psychiatrist and academic leader specializing in bipolar disorder and precision medicine in psychiatry. He currently serves as the Thomas B. and Nancy Upjohn Woodworth Professor of Bipolar Disorder and Depression at the University of Michigan, where he is also a Professor of Psychiatry and the Director of the Heinz C. Prechter Bipolar Research Program. With over three decades of clinical and research experience, Dr. McInnis has been at the forefront of integrating genomic, neurobiological, and psychosocial data to advance the understanding and treatment of mood disorders. His work is deeply collaborative and interdisciplinary, aiming to develop personalized treatment strategies through the application of big data analytics and mobile health technologies. Dr. McInnis has authored over 250 peer-reviewed publications. He is widely recognized for his leadership that is shaping the future of mental health care.
