After a loved one’s suicide, it’s important to grieve and heal in your own way.

Whether you are just beginning the recovery process or you just need some extra support, there are resources that can help you cope with your loss.

Speak with a licensed therapist or grief counselor.

Individual or family therapy with a clinician who is knowledgeable about bereavement after suicide can help you adjust to life after suicide and work through your grief in a productive way.

Join a support group for suicide loss survivors.

Consider joining a family support group. Meeting other survivors and sharing your story with others who are also experiencing grief from a death by suicide may help you find strength to heal. The University of Michigan has a survivors of suicide group.
