Depression Education and Resource Center
Depression resource center helps patients participate in their care
The Friends Depression Education and Resource Center (FDERC), located in the east end of the Rachel Upjohn Building Atrium, provides a wide array of educational materials from trusted sources on mental health diagnoses, treatment options, self-help strategies, tips on talking to healthcare providers, and regional and national support networks.
The FDERC provides the following services:
- Computer access to our Depression Toolkit website and other reliable mental health information websites
- Staff to help answer questions and locate appropriate materials
- A lending library with print and video materials
- Free brochures, pamphlets, and articles focusing on a wide variety of depressive disorders and other mental health conditions.

Friends of the University of Michigan Hospitals and Health Centers is a non-profit community organization that has helped support patient care in the hospitals and health education in Ann Arbor since 1978.
