Genetic Studies in Bipolar Disorder

Longitudinal Study of Bipolar Disorder

Principal Investigator: Melvin G. McInnis, MD

Our Purpose:
To identify potential illness patterns in Bipolar Disorder.  This will be done through the analysis of genetic information and the continued observation of people with Bipolar Disorder for at least five years.

Involvement Requires:

Personal Interview
Annual visits
Completion of self-report questionnaires
Questionnaires every 2 months
Neuropsychological testing
Blood sample for genetics
Saliva collection
Compensation for your time

Qualifications:

You are 18-65 years old
You have a diagnosis of Bipolar Disorder
OR, as our control group: there is no mental illness in your family
