The University of Michigan Depression Center and Ambulatory Psychiatry provide comprehensive evaluation and treatment for patients and families whose lives have been touched by an array of brain-behavior illnesses and disorders. We treat individuals in every life stage, including children and adolescents, adults and geriatric patients. Care is provided by dedicated, multidisciplinary teams of psychiatrists, psychologists, nurses, social workers, and other health care staff who provide a variety of evidencebased specialized programs and services, including:
- Individual treatment
- Group therapy
- Medication expertise (psychopharmacology)
- Neuropsychological testing
- Community-based support groups
- Emerging therapies such as neuromodulation for treatment resistant depression
Patient care teams also partner with internationally-recognized U-M researchers to study the causes, treatments, and prevention of psychiatric illnesses. This close partnership allows research advances to move more quickly to patients who can benefit from them, and allows researchers to learn in turn from patient experiences.
