An Introduction to Mindfulness and
A Course in Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction

The Frankel Psychotherapy Training Initiative is again offering a 2-hour Introduction to Mindfulness and an 8-weekcourse Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction to psychotherapists and health professionals. The practice of mindfulness has been shown in numerous research studies to foster mental health and self-care.

MBSR 8-week Course

Wednesdays, 6-8 PM
April 3rd to May 29th (no class on April 24th)
All-day retreat on Saturday, May 18th, from 10 am – 4 pm.

Both the introductory session and the 8-week MBSR class will be taught by Libby Robinson, PhD, MPH, LLMSW, who has been practicing mindfulness meditation since 1979, was trained in MBSR by Jon Kabat-Zinn and colleagues at the University of Massachusetts,  and in MBCT by Zindel Segal and colleagues, and has been teaching MBSR since 2003. Libby is on the faculty of the Department of Psychiatry and a member of the Depression Center. Libby will be assisted by Sharon Mudd, NP, MS, RN, a psychiatric nurse practitioner with mindfulness experience.

The course is $175 and includes handouts and a 4-CD set with guided meditations. CEUs for social workers and psychologists will be available. Registration is limited to 20 people.
