Transportation & Parking
For those of you flying in for the conference, you will want to select Detroit Metro airport as your destination. Ann Arbor is a 30 minute drive from the airport.
You are in charge of your own transportation. Cabs frequently travel from the airport to Ann Arbor. Expect to pay between $40-50 one-way. You can also make arrangements (at least 24 hours in advance of your flight) to take a shuttle:

Ken's Airport Shuttle: 734-941-7777. $60 one way, $120 round trip. Good for up to four people, each additional person is $10. Van service.
Detroit Sedan Service (formerly Metro Connection Service): Call Raj at 734-347-4007 or 734-752-1493. $49 each way.
Ann Arbor Metro Service (formerly Ann Arbor Metro Shuttle): 734-507-9220. $35 each way for one person, $45 each way for 2-5 people.
Ann Arbor Airport Shuttle: 734-394-1665. $32 per person from the airport to Ann Arbor, $25 per person from Ann Arbor to the airport, or $55 roundtrip. They need a contact number for the passenger, the passenger calls when they land, and the driver gives directions as to where to meet.
from I-94 exit at State Street (exit 177) (approx. 20 miles from Detroit Metro Airport); go north on State, which will take you into campus. Several parking options are located west of State and north of Madison. Rackham Graduate School, your first destination, can be reached by continuing north on State Street and turning right on Washington. It will be on the left, just before Fletcher Street.
US-23 to Business M-14 (Main Street). Take Main Street to Huron Street. Turn left (east) on Huron. Turn right on State Street. Several parking options are located west of State Street (from State, turn right on Liberty and left on Thompson to reach the Maynard St. parking structure). To reach Rackham from Huron and State, take a right onto State (south), and then turn left (east) on E. Washington. Rackham is on the left, just before Fletcher Street.
From I-94, exit at Jackson Road (172), which becomes Huron Street as you travel east. Continue east on Huron. Take a right onto State (south), and then turn left (east) on E. Washington. Rackham is on the left, just before Fletcher Street.
US-23 to Washtenaw Avenue West exit (exit 37B). After you travel approximately 2-3 miles, there is a fork in the road, splitting into Stadium Blvd and Washtenaw Ave. Stay to the right to continue on Washtenaw. Keep following Washtenaw, which will eventually curve to the left and become E. Huron Street. Take Huron Street to Fletcher Street. Turn left onto Fletcher. Then take your first right, which is Washington Street. Rackham is the large building on your right.
Parking on campus is limited, so please consider parking at the Hampton Inn South, 925 Victors Way, near exit 177 off I-94 on Ann Arbor’s southeast side, and take the free shuttle to the conference. The shuttle will run every 15 minutes from 7:30-9:30 a.m. and 4-6 p.m. on March 18th, and from 7:15-9:15 a.m. and 12-2 p.m. on March 19th.

The conference will be held at the Horace H. Rackham School
of Graduate Studies, at the corner of E. Washington St., E.
Huron and Fletcher Street (J-1 on the central and south campuses
map).

- The Fifth Street Public Parking lot between Liberty and William, and Fifth and Division. (D-3 on the map)

If you select this option, you will park at the State Street
Commuter Lot, located on the west side of State Street, north
of Eisenhower, across from the Howard Cooper car dealership.
The Route 36 Shuttle runs every 9 minutes from 7-10 a.m.,
every 12 minutes from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., and every 30 minutes
from 6 to 10 p.m. This route goes directly to U of M Central
Campus. Route 36 stops in the State Street lot and at the
Tennis Center lot when traveling to and from campus. Starting
with the 4 p.m. trip, however, northbound (towards campus)
buses do not pull into these lots.
Please note that shuttle service to and from the conference will be provided from the Hampton Inn South hotel. The shuttle will run every 15 minutes from 7:30-9:30 a.m., 4-6:00 p.m. on March 18th and from 7:15-9:15 a.m. and 12-2:00 p.m. on March 19th.
