Psychotherapy Groups Adult Depression Program

Managing Your Mood

For Adults

A series of eight weekly group sessions designed to teach skills to help manage depression. This cognitive-behavioral group is appropriate for individuals with depression with or without complication by chronic medical illness. The sessions include group participation and exercises including some from The Feeling Good Handbook by David Burns, MD. The 6 to 9 members of the group are taught strategies and work together to develop individualized assignments and to support positive change.

Starting Dates: Starting dates and schedules for groups vary according to demand. There are several groups throughout the year.
Place: Depression Center and Ambulatory Psychiatry facility, in the Rachel Upjohn Building, 4250 Plymouth Rd., Ann Arbor, MI 48109 -map-
Information/Scheduling: Referrals of those who have gone through intake and evaluation process are made by Department of Psychiatry clinicians. Participants will be called as group is scheduled to begin and asked if they want to register for that session.
